Danielle Howerton

MOT, OTR/L Occupational Therapist
I am blessed to be doing what I’m called to do and love thinking outside of the box in order to help build skills and adapt activities, tasks and environments to meet the needs of each individual and facilitate his/her growth and independence. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, including my husband, parents and my cat and two dogs. I also enjoy spending time outdoors, listening to music, dancing and going to yoga. I believe in being well rounded and dreaming big!

Hi! I'm Danielle

After receiving my B.S. degree in child development from Texas Woman’s University in 2010, I went on to earn my M.S. in occupational therapy degree from TWU in 2012. Launching my career at Baylor University Medical Center, I began on the trauma team where I learned about the importance of meeting my patients where they are, being flexible, the resilience of the human spirit and creating triumph in the face of overwhelming obstacles. From there, I transitioned to the outpatient setting and helped establish a new Day Neuro program, a transition program that helps individuals gain their independence with the everyday skills needed to function at home, work and in the community. In 2015, I began working with clients ages 3 to 22 in public schools where I learned about modifying the curriculum and facilitating development of the knowledge and skills needed for their growth and success. In 2018, I helped launch the occupational therapy department at Synaptic Pediatric Therapies.
